O'Rourke is one of the fastest growing construction groups in the UK and Ireland. Innovation, excellence in design and engineering, top quality management and total commitment to every contract remain the keys to its success.

Group skills embrace most aspects of the construction process including civil and structural engineering, precast concrete design and manufacture, supply and installation of natural stone, the specialised field of post-tensioning and ground anchors, mechanical and electrical engineering, plant and equipment, tower crane hire, excavation and landfill.

The company has been responsible for the concrete engineering and construction of many of the nation's recent landmark buildings. These include the Bluewater shopping destination in Kent, the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and the Museum of Scotland. Currently O'Rourke is playing a major part in the construction of the new Scottish Parliament building also in Edinburgh City centre.

The first major use of O'Rourke's highly developed self-climbing jumpform system has seen the construction of the concrete core of a 45 storey tower block in Canary Wharf at a rate of one floor every 4 days. This enabled O'Rourke as main contractor to complete the Citigroup tower (DS5) in only 14 months. Two further towers are currently underway by O'Rourke at Canary Wharf using this same method of construction.
